Texas 1 Data Center
Texas 1 Data Center is Data Foundry’s flagship, carrier-neutral, data center located on the 40-acre Data Ranch development. This Tier III data center has helped to establish Austin as a leading market for wholesale and retail data center outsourcing, colocation and disaster recovery services. Powered by two independent substations and connected to over 17 fiber providers, Texas 1 is the most redundant, connected, and secure data center and disaster recovery solution available in Texas.
Data Foundry’s business model called for a scalable, expandable facility that could provide a flexible mix of space sizes and permitting a variety of equipment deployments promoting a proactive response toward customer service and convenience. External drivers of the facility design included physical characteristics of the site and the available utility capacity. Data Foundry engaged CCG to develop a collaborative design solution that met these demanding requirements.
The first phase of this effort consisted of the core and shell development of a 127,000 square foot building shell expandable to 250,000 square feet, with an initial computer room POD 1 build-out of 11,250 square feet of raised floor IT equipment area and supporting infrastructure. CCG design solution took into consideration expansion of the data center areas through subsequent phases, and future development of the overall site with additional buildings. Subsequent phases involved the fit-out of computer room POD 2 and POD 3.
