Session: Standby Power Generation Ensures Nonstop Operation at Communications Data Center
2:50-3:20 pm - Room 207

Cox Enterprises in Phoenix, Arizona, recently completed a new 114,000 square-foot data center to serve millions of digital video, internet, telephone and wireless customers. Michael Mosman PE, Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at CCG Facilities Integration, will describe the innovative solution developed by the CCG engineering team and engineers at Cummins Power Generation. John Kilinskis from Cummins Power Generation will be on hand to answer questions about the integrated standby power system installed at the Cox data center, including three Cummins generator sets and a PowerCommand paralleling system. Unique features of the standby system include an automated "swing" function for the generators, and specially-designed switchgear with arc-containing enclosures.

The Uptime Institute Symposium 2011 is being held on May 9-12, 2011 in Santa Clara, California.
