NAP of the Americas
The NAP of the Americas is the country's fifth major Tier 1 Internet communications traffic hub. This facility provides a location for the largest Internet access providers to tie themselves together through telecommunications switching equipment. The NAP of the Americas is located in the Technology Center of the Americas, or TECOTA, a 720,000 SF dedicated telecommunications infrastructure facility. This facility is expected to play a major role in the revitalization of Miami's emerging technology district.
The NAP's functionality will include Peering and "Meet Me" facilities, a central Network Operations Center, Co-location facilities and Technical Support areas. Dedicated support infrastructure, including a rotary emergency power/UPS system and mechanical cooling system backing up the central utility-operated chiller plant is also provided.
