US DataPort
The Virginia Gateway Campus is the second major development effort of US DataPort, with a third to follow. US DataPort's objective is the development and operation of technology facility campuses supported by on-site highly reliable centralized power and cooling cogeneration plants.
US DataPort's strategy is to provide unique advantages to large data center users, including accelerated time to market; below market electric power and cooling costs; reliable power and cooling supplies due to on-site cogeneration; cost-effective, reliable and diverse access to multiple high bandwidth service providers; an extremely secure physical environment; and a broad range of development methodologies for facility construction.
The major elements of this development include the central reliable energy and cooling plant, two centralized telecommunications and site management support facilities, and as many as twelve freestanding technology center facilities. Over 2.3 million square feet of technology floor area is planned for the 192 acre site.
